  1. I feel like the reason so many ar owners need the differences explained to them is because their experience is just with ARs. You shoot a variety of rifle types and you will immediately understand the benefits of certain styles. You should be able to look at a particular stock and know if its right for your shooting and carry style.

  2. Yet another mall warrior repeating someone else's prattle.
Example: who cares about a tiny rattle when the gun goes BOOM, BOOM, BOOM? "Quick release attachment points" are HOLES. More expensive? Why? The truth is they are all injection molded plastic that cost about $4 to manufacture and package. If a rattle bothers you, wedge in a zip tie tail. Want a different butt pad, cut one and screw it on. Its NOT rocket science. People have been making stocks out of old tree limbs for hundreds of years and they work as well now as ever.

  3. Well, guess to be an oddball, But I switched my A2 adjusable to an A1 stock. in the 80's, My M-16 shouldered well for me. Why screw with what I am familiar with? What benefit does an adjustable stock have? make it more compact to carry? Forget to extend it, makes it awkward to use!

  4. The rattle is side to side not up and down. If your body is positioned properly (shoulder cupped around the stock) it’s not going to make a difference what stock you have. Btw rifles recoil to the rear not to the side. At the front maybe a little but that doesn’t translate to the very back of it.

At the end of the day, in a self defense scenario or just plinking, you don’t have to worry about a millimeter wiggle on the stock. If you’re taking longer range shots for self defense, a judge would argue the legality of that. If you’re taking longer range shots, why wouldn’t you get a better tool for the job anyway if you have that kind of time?

If you’re so worried about it, you should just get a bolt action with a chassis.

  5. The UBR is expensive because it's not just a stock, but a whole buffer tube, castle nut, and stock with its own adjustment mechanism. Because of its unique buffer rail, it locks up tight and doesn't have any form of rattle. It survived massive torture tests, specifically 200 3 ft drops.

  6. You can add electrical tape by the layer on the buffer tube to reduce rattle. It doesn’t matter if you have a good or bad stock from my notice, but it’s a cheap and effective fix yall
