Wisdom Abounds from years of experience and training!!! I'm onboard with the 'Shop teacher' comment! GOD BLESS!
I had a 1911 that loved to jam even when cleaned and oiled. One day I doused it with brake cleaner and it fixed itself haha.
Great video. I've added a 1/20th portion of petroleum distillate based rust inhibitor to my mineral oil. Ed's Red for bore cleaning.
I have a pistol grip shotgun with an 18 inch barrel it's been a while since I've used it the action seems real rough how much oil should I put on the action and where could I put it
thanks you Sir, love your channel and the information you provide!
You are exactly right sir this is what I was taught in Gunsmithing School as a matter of fact one method to get things really clean and grease free is to use Dawn dishwashing detergent and hot water and light lubrication before putting back together after completely drying I let mine set overnight or at least 24 hours keep up the great work love your video 👍👍👍
Great video!!
I’ve been following this Gentleman for years. He has advocated for minimal lubrication for years.
Great video!
Remove dirt, prevent rust. That's 99% of it.
The bore might need a bit more than that for a high volume/fine barrels as they will accumulate, powder fouling, hard carbon and jacket material. Still no need for fancy products.
Wayne, can you do a video on cleaning and maintaining the modern inline muzzleloader?
Started using REM oil instead of ballistol now my guns don’t rust
This mans videos are some of the most informative, clear and concise that i've seen yet.

Also inside the barrel is an intense fire each time you fire a shot, this heat exposes the steel to both corrosion and erosion. These are not typical considerations when you are wiping down dirty tools
I whole heartly agree about the harm in over lubing a firearm. I have to control my own oiling when I'm done cleaning a gun. But just a flim of oil is enough to do the job. I also run a dry swab down the bore before I go out to the range. Excellent advice!!
“My wife loves it when I use the Hoppies.”
Many thanks for your nice, informative and clear explanation!
AMEN — Thank you for being direct … and to the point. — curious about 0.177 pellet gun air,
how would you clean the inside of the area that lead pellets travel. ???
My guy is drinking mineral water while using mineral spirits to shining up his steel broomstick. He’s the grandpa I wish I had
