Bless you. This was the one thing keeping me from finishing my rebuild as I couldn't get the damn handguard off.
Logic got me all the way to screwing in the screw from the other side of the retention tab and trying to tap it out, but I was too gentle with it since I wasn't sure.

Thanks for this man, I could take the whole thing apart and put it back together but until I saw you punch out that little triangle piece, I was stuck on the handguard!

Thanks boss fucker wouldnt come off till i slapped out that little triangle
