  1. Problem with the designed "adjustment" (little screw near the rear pin) is that the pin in itself is a pivot point… thus it contributes to the wobble rather that adjusting for the wobble. I resolved the upper to lower receiver wobble by inserting the appropriate sized feeler gauge between the upper and lower just in front of the "adjustment screw fix" (be sure to extend the gauge to apply adjustment to both sides of the upper/lower fit).

  2. I use the red accu wedge. Different companies have branded it. Its along the lines of the ear plugs solution you did but its a harder plastic that will compress over time for a customized fit. Very very tight fit initially but settles in nicely. Ive bought them at 55 cent a piece at times so no worries.
