  1. Leveling the rifle along the axis of the barrel is useless, when you place the mount on the rail, you can't shim it if it's not level, so just skip this part they described because it's absolutely useless. On the other hand level left to right is crucial.

  2. I'm surprised they didn't mention 'Eye-relief'?
If a Beginner, and even if you're experienced with optics/mounting them, 'I' personally wield the firearm as I intend on using it (Prone, standing, braced, etc..). I then put the scope and rails on the proper slot that gives me the best image, while also ensuring the back of the scope isn't going to give me a black eye when I fire the weapon (Do that ONCE, and you'll never do it again!). 🙂
Each firearm has their own sweet spot, and as was mentioned, different climes/clothing will greatly affect that eye relief.

Great basics, and a sincere 'Thank you!'

  3. First ad I got on the video was vote for Dems. Second ad was anti gun fear mongering about how your child will get shot if you have a gun in the house. Ending ad also about voting for dems. Youtube doing its best to steer people away from Colion

  4. One thing to note, though, is that putting the bubble to the left or right line assumes that all bubble levels used have the same amount of air on them, and they certainly don't.
That's why I use a wedge type device that goes under the scope and confirm the reticle is truly vertical/horizontal with a plumb bob(viewed through the bore AND lined up with the vertical reticle part)before final tightening.

  5. im not hating but the colors are extremely flat in this video. im assuming youre using slog or slog 2 and you gotta color grade them if youre gonna shoot slog.

you should just shoot in standard since it requires no editing to look normal. again not hating i just do exactly that for my work and noticed it.
