  1. At the beginning of the video, I’ve basically had the same issues in my gun but with 300 Blackout in a custom gun. 190gr Sub-X and 208gr Black didn’t function properly but as soon as I moved to Winchester 200gr it worked just fine. Wonder if Hornady has been having ammo issues anyways

  2. Hey Larea the slow motion video of the ballistic dummy being shot starts after the impact so you cannot see anything. I think you put the wrong cut of the clip in the video.

  3. In energy calculations, velocity (or change in velocity) is squared, so a 6x heavier bullet going roughly 1/3 the velocity would amount to 6 divided by 3-squared, or 6/9, which is two-thirds the energy of a 55gr 5.56.

  4. Until Magpul adapts their 6mm arc ICAR magazine to use a heavy spring to work 338 arc, the rounds just not gonna take off. Doesn't help that the 6 arc mags need proprietary lowers too. It can't replace 300blk until it gets working 25 rd mags

  5. Thank you! I am considering getting one of these. Also want to collect the various ultra reliable guns you talk about. I appreciate your reliability testing and share your recommendations with people in my circles. Mr. GunsNGear is the only other guy who's opinion I trust regarding reliability.

  6. Hillbilly? Don't you need to live around hills at least? I've always wondered, everyone talks about bolt bounce, which is supposed to be the reason for the buffer in the AR. Yet I can't think of any other gun that has a bolt bounce issue and as far as I'm aware, almost every other gun uses just a recoil spring. My question is since you have shot most rifles, is bolt bounce an issue?

  7. My 357 sigs feed just fine being bottlenecked. Plural. Couple G23 conversions to G32 with different barrels and comps, couple actual G32’s with different ported barrels/slides and or comps.

I’m a Glock gen 4 guy. I might be the only guy that loves Gen 4 the best.

Only problem I ever had was an LE trade in 40 cal mag that was actually rusted. Cleaned up hasn’t happened again but that was only on the last round. Where a G23 mag holds 13 40 cal but 14 357 sig. doesn’t happen anymore and I shoot a fair amount of 357 sig.

I bought cases of what ended up being super hot range 357 sig ammo for like $0.50/rd or less. I think m it was like $21 for a box of 50 so I bought all I could. Also got some XTP 357 sig but that’s just going 9+P XTP velocity. A hair under 1200 fps.

I love the 357 sig. I’ve not had that issue with bottlenecked calibers. More so 556 which is also bottlenecked more than 357 sig or 300BLK. Again I love 357 sig. I have rounds that don’t penetrate as deep when carrying in public because they expand so large so fast, HST LE 357 sig (NC state police still carry 357 sig) is the go to do all, the 1175fps XTP 357 sig and then just my range ammo that’s 1400fps on the box and 1460’s out of my barrels. All of mine do have 4.5” threaded barrels but it’s pushing 357 mag velocity in a barrel half the length and way more capacity. So I have what I call the half dollar loads because they expand real fast and real large but they’re bonded so they stay together. The HST LE 1481fps was my best velocity. The XTP’s just under 1200 so super expensive 9mm really. Then my crazy hot range ammo I bought everything I could buy when it was $21/50ct boxes. Cases weren’t available.

  8. Very interested in this particular caliber especially in the subsonic ammunition. The .300 blackout is a no go for me because it’s not powerful enough. Looking for a caliber that is great for deer hunting AND self defense. Thanks for this video on a very interesting firearm topic. I can’t afford multiple firearms so dual use is just as important to me as reliability.

  9. We appreciate the content provided by both you and your wife. You are consistently the best firearm content provider on YouTube and the only one that I trust when I am looking for a new firearm type. Telling it like it is and the skills and knowledge that you possess makes your videos a much watch event

  10. So a heavier grain weight and larger diameter… but did we really need that? 8.6BLK and 300BLK exist. 300BLK made PCC’s obsolete other than range toys.

Is it really an answer to a question that wasn’t asked because no one needed to ask it? Or was it an attempt to beef up the 300BLK? It’s damn sure nowhere near an 8.6BLK.

  11. Probably has 10 round mags because almost all higher capacity 6.5 grendal mags have issues. Back when I used to own one the only mags I could get to work consistently where the Ross defense unimag unfortunately the business isn't around anymore otherwise they'd likely be the best mags for this gun.
