  1. Don't forget to use plastic gloves to keep solvent to skin contact to a minimum and work in a well ventilated area.

I belong to a shooting club and I usually clean my rifles at the outdoor range.

This way my garage stays clear of fumes and the guns are clean before I get home.

  2. Hoppes 9 should never be used on a fire arm. It is made for paintball guns.
    A powerful solvent is needed.
Only a gunsmith should perform work 9n a weapon. The average person dose not have the abulitys to do this correctly and will ruin the weapon.

  3. I always wondered is it ok to pass the brush back and forth while inside the barrel on one motion, or are you supposed to go all the way out of the end of the barrel and the bull the brush back thru in reverse? I ask because I shoot a 26" barrel and with using a bore guide, my cleaning rod barely makes it all the way out thru the barrel.

  4. Just bought a Howa M1500, so basically just remove the bolt and clean it as any other rifle. I was alway sketchy running that bronze brush through it in fear of damaging the rifling. I’m using rem oil though, suppose to clean and lubricate the weapon. 2 in 1..

  5. I have developed a way of cleaning my barrels faster, I would like to know what you think. I wet the brush and run it back and forth so that the brush mixes the solvent with the fouling. I then put in a dry patch to soak up the dirty solvent. I keep doing this (wet brush dry patch) untill the patches come out clean. I feel putting in a wet patch in will cause the patch to ride over much of the fouling. Then I oil the barrel.

  6. Only visit the range once per month with my son. We spend a long time cleaning. I thought we were dedicated but I calculate it would take you one week to do what we do in (cleaning) 3/4 hrs. As for the annoying interuptions from my son cats I keep a water pistol near. Hate long videos, you and Hickok45 are the exxeption. You won a like. Have a nice day.
