How to Mount a Rifle Sling for Better Performance

In this video, we walk you through how to properly mount a sling on your rifle for comfort, functionality, and better handling. I’ve always trusted Magpul slings, but there are other great brands out there like Blue Force Gear Vickers Sling and Warrior Poet Society’s branded sling.

Here’s my setup:

Front Attachment: QD mount positioned midway up the handguard to keep it out of the way of the support hand.
Rear Attachment: Instead of the inboard side, I loop it over the back of the butt stock and attach it on the outside. This configuration keeps the rifle closer to your body for better control.
Why This Setup?

Keeps the rifle snug and secure when slung.
Ensures the sling doesn’t interfere with your support side arm.
Perfect for practical use and easy transitions.
If you’re new to rifle setups or want to refine your current configuration, this video is for you!

  1. That's great, thank you Sir. I made the mistake of ordering one from one of those on-line sites without checking the finer details. It came with the bungee cord attached within the strap…. Damn riffle gets to bouncing all over the place, 3 point sling my Arse.
