Haven’t we been saying this for years? There are far to many laws.
So just AR 15. Not AK 47, Colt Monolithic, Bushmaster Bravo Zulu, Kel Tec Sub 2000, Black Rain Ordnance etc. These clueless politicians lump AR 15s as a the platform for all rifles, not a brand. It’s just more popular type, but ban it, and mentally ill and criminals will choose another one. This is almost impossible to do, since the legislation would have to name all “rifles” and specific components to “ban” them.

I would like to debate you Mr Noir, I take a different stance on these issues. Most politicians don't know what they are talking about or know enough about guns. I think we need a gun license in the US, just like a drivers license. It should be involve a mental health evaluation, terrorist/extremist investigation, passing a gun safety and safe storage course, and for new gun owners, maybe a free gun lock. I'd even argue an interview with a family member/friend in some cases. This would be renewed every 5 years or so.
I don't think mass gun bans are going to work, in fact I think that will backfire horribly. Banning any single type of gun will not work very well either. At Virginia Tech, two handguns were used, not "weapons of war" or "assault weapons". I also don't think arming teachers and reinforcing schools will do anything for mass shootings as a whole. Should we do the same for all the Walmarts? Bowling alleys? Nightclubs? Offices? Parks? Where does it end? That's not the world I want to live in, armed guards everywhere because we have angry mentally ill people with guns that can strike anywhere? Also, in this case the perp didn't even enter the building, he barricaded the doors and shot through the windows. You also discount that a large percentage of the perps are suicidal. They don't intend to get out of their heinous act alive. Prevention really is the best cure in this case.
Of course this won't stop 100% of mass shootings, and they might switch to other weapons. However firearms are inarguably much easier to do mass damage with compared to knives and vehicles. I think this is a reasonable compromise for a great amount of safety. I just wish more politicians suggested real solutions like this instead of joining the bandwagon of the uninformed gun control crowd.

What happened to those poor kids was just part of the democrats agenda to ban ARs it wasnt a transformer or the multiple L comunity it was the government.
