Am I still dumb if I have an ARP that shoots 45acp since I don’t have a 556 rifle? I’ve got a QC10 ar 45 with Speer gold dot +1 and plenty of 26 (+1) round mags. They also fit Glock 21 mags so I’ve got a couple baby 13 (+1) rd mags too. I know it’s not as good, but is that with an edc (g43x with federal HST +P rounds)

Do you think for now that’s enough? I still plan on getting a standard ar15

223/556 is for people who can’t handle a sore shoulder. I’ll take my ten round SBR 458 win mag. I’ll punch a softball size hole through whatever I’m aiming at. Also why not have a G3, FAL, 553, bullpups, or AK all are excellent choices. The AR is not the be all end all of guns, it’s just biased on a ok gun form the Vietnam. So do your homework people and figure out which one is right for you.

I recently got an AR-15. My reasons for not having one has nothing to do with how the gun is perceived, it has to do with practicality.

Yeah, I got one recently because of the way the world is getting lately, especially here in the US.

But for home defense, I need to be concerned with my neighbors and others around. My shot gun or 9mm loaded with Critical Defense are much less likely to go through walls and certainly not a block or two away if I by chance miss my target, the evil violent intruder who is 15 – 20 feet away threatening my life.

AR-15s are much more useful in more open and spread out areas. But in densely populated cities, it definitely has a much higher chance of collateral damage.

Sure, get an AR-15…but know what it's capable of (2,500 or more feet per second projectiles) and know what's behind your target…no…waaaay behind your target or the walls or….I think you get the point.

Did an ffl trade with a chainsaw i rarely used if at all for a black rain ar15 which is also my first gun ever. I don't feel a bit of sadness to have let that saw go even though i loved it because now i can defend my home and my family. Id rather my family be safe and me be able to defend my home front over anything else! Buy an ar people its a good investment and honestly a necessary one!!

Its a fine rifle, a grossly overrated overkitted range toy but a fine rifle none the less. dont let the LARPerators discourage you from getting the rifle you want if its not an AR but it is a fine rifle
