  1. Why? Because they're clear, easy to use, have etched reticles, work with astigmatism, and come in varying levels of magnification.

    As for the warranty:
Years ago i bought a compact 3x ACOG off eBay. The model was discontinued but a few years later the tritium stopped glowing. I contacted Trijicon and they fixed it with no issues and no questions.

  2. My start into the AR world was a red dot paired with a 3X magnifier. Years later I strayed away from dots as a primary optic and put a Trijicon ACOG and a Burris AR-536 with offset dots on my custom builds. My bedside currently has an LPVO set to 3X with an offset dot. Most of my shooting is done at a minimum 100 yards and prefer an optic that can reach out as well as shoot decent up close for home defense. Trijicon is an expensive option but is hard to beat the glass quality.

  3. A Prism + 3, 4, 5X magnifier is what I really need but I'm so damned stubborn!!! I'm in hard TDS-like denial that, 1. I have an astigmatism, 2. I can't see $#!T and need specs but refuse to wear 'em!!! I'm still fighting with my Sig, PA, etc red dots and LPVO's. Just need to make the jump! Great video.

  4. I lucked out with a double whammy of astigmatism and an old injury to my dominant eye. Prisms are the only way for me. You're missing the dark horse entry of the 1X Vortex prism. Crystal clear, built like a tank, and takes everyday batteries. You can switch between red or green reticle too. Not as small a package at the PA, but it's still on my rig.

  5. Good information.👍
While the ACOG is great on an AR15 with almost no recoil, it absolutely sucks on anything that recoils, even as much as a 9mm PCC.🤷‍♂ But alas, who needs 4x on a PCC? I know, first world problems…😁🤏

  6. I've been using the Primary Arms prism optics and in my opinion they are second to none. Crystal clear glass and the ACSS is incredible. I also have Vortex 5 power prism but I like the Primary Arms more.

  7. Man. My astigmatism is so damn bad. I saw 2 horseshoes on the lowest illuminated setting. Went to my eye doctor… he said boy. You're better off throwing a brick at the enemy than taking a shot at one. I've invested in bricks and mortar.

  8. retired infantryman here, USMC, 1994-2014 … been through a lot of changes, was also a trained PMI/Coach and Infantry MOS instructor as well.. seen some time over there and back.. The RCO ACOg was a huge HUGE game changer for my guys and Me, from using call for fire, CAS, Machine gun employment, Mortar, and just plain supressive fire and Emout Mout and CQB..one of the best changes they made, and i started with the M16a2..and ended my carear carrying hte M4.. I saw the SAW, M240 change..and the RCO was huge even with those ..

  9. I really like prisms bc my acog. However, they do require you to learn a new skill to use it at short range. Like train your brain and stuff. It's not the sort of thing you just buy and expect to use right away, I don't think. Another issue I have with them is that my neck is very long, so I have to mount them far more forward on the weapon than most if the stock isn't adjustable. This means nobody can use my prism optic but me, which isn't perfect, I don't think.
