Recently, Governor Lamont signed House Bill 7042 (HB 7042) into law as Public Act No. 25-43. As previously reported, this law allows civil causes of action to be brought against firearm industry members who allegedly fail to establish, implement, or enforce “reasonable controls.”
Public Act No. 25-43 is effective October 1, 2025.
