  1. Please correct me if im wrong the lower dosent matter as long as internals are good and the upper dosent matter aslong as bcg is good and barrel isnt like obviously split open and the short the gas system the more wear and tear you put on the rifle

  2. This is exactly why I agree with everyone saying there's no such thing as a one size fits all perfect for everyone ar-15. You can get them in all the calibers of the rainbow, which makes them better at some things, not so good at others. Standard AR-15 in 5.56 NATO CAN reach out to 600 yards, but I don't need mine doing more than 300y 90% of the time.
Mine is a PSA build it yourself lower parts kit into a spikes tactical 3-position stripped lower, b5 butstock and pistol grip. For the upper, it's a 16" PSA 4th of july special with 14" pic-rail at 12 o'clock and mlok every 45 degrees for the remaining 7 sides. (Yes, I hate mlok, never again, imo.) I've replaced the standard PSA BCG with a Bravo Company BCG. I've added mbus sights, sig romeo & juliet sights, a magpul bipod (no, it's not the greatest, but it works well enough for me), a generic sling on QD mounting points, and next paycheck I'll be getting an SMS HFXC to compete the build.
All in, I'm not sure how much I've actually spent, but I know no single component went over $300.
I'm also thinking of swapping out the charging handle for a BCM Ambi MK2 Large, but if I'm doing that, it's because I'm also changing out the A2 bird cage for a suppressor mount.
This is not going to be "best for everyone" but it's mine, and I learned so much from building it myself. I am confident that I can fix and repair almost anything that goes wrong with it, other than removing the pinned & welded A2 bird cage. I'll leave that to a pro gunsmith, not my amateur fumbling.

  3. I just built a sub 6 lb AR with a 1to5 scope in 6.5 Grendel. 18 inch carbon fiber barrel. Every component selected for weight. It is slick. The barrel is threaded but no can so far. Goal was light weight white tail rig. This fall I test it.
