On Tuesday May 13, the Texas House passed two pro-gun bills, House Bill 1403 and House Bill 1794. Both bills have been transmitted to the Senate and are awaiting committee assignments.

House Bill 1403, authored by Rep. Cody Harris, protects the privacy of foster families by prohibiting child placement agencies from requiring applicants to disclose the specific types or quantities of firearms kept in their homes. If such information is collected, the bill ensures it remains confidential.

House Bill 1794, sponsored by Rep. Carl Tepper, eliminates the prohibition on licensed handgun carriers possessing firearms on the premises of polling places during early voting and on Election Day.

Your NRA-ILA will continue to keep you informed on these and other Second Amendment developments in the Lone Star State.
