This is a great way of getting very close to zeroing the rifle usually within a few rounds
i always boresight put it in a bench 1 shot and move crosshairs to the hole and 1 or 2 shots to check zero much easier and cheaper than a few clicks at a time

This totally works. I do it with all of my uppers with dots at home in my living room and they’re within an inch at 25 yards first shots out at the range and easy to fine tune from there.
Its more fun sending some down range to zero out the scope but hey we all have our way of doing things
