All due respect, if you need to use a scope to hit anything at 100 yards, barring exceptions such as vision problems, than you are far better off spending your time practicing instead of researching between optics. Once you're able to do that, then you'll probably have a better idea of what you want out of an optic, and that will help you make your decision

  2. Red dot can accurately hit out to 300 and has no parallax. Lighter and faster. 5.56 is velocity dependent and really drops below fragmentation threshold out past 300. For defensive purposes a red dot does 90% of what you need.

  3. Been running an lpvo for years on my AR and I love it also run a red dot on my ak pistol and that is also great. If I could only have one I’d go lpvo it just doesn’t make sense to run that on a Pistol
