my first purchase was night vision scope for my ar and then i realized how worthless it was in comparison to a thermal scope. an ir illuminator is one thing but to actually be able to see what u are shooting at is a huge deal. id never recommend night vision to anyone unless its for something like driving at night through fields with no lights cause as far as hunting at night goes theres no comparison to a thermal even a bad one is better then the greatest night vision. once a coyote or hog gets into knee high grass u cant see them on NV but u see them perfectly with thermal. just saying to anyone looking for a night hunting optic in no world would i recomend NV id simply tell them to keep saving for thermal not that theres much of a price difference if u got money for nv u got money for thermal.
