Don't think I'll ever get a 10lbs AR. Too heavy for me. Not that I'm a small guy, but 7.5 lbs is where I'd draw the line for an AR. I've got a couple of 18" 5.56 ARs that come in at around 7.5 lbs and with MPVOs. Regardless, a 6.5 Creedmor AR makes more sense since it's a little better in the wind.
Good info.👍
I am actually researching the tuning of an AR10 right now. But mine is not your typical AR10, if there is such an animal.🤷♂ I have the MK3 CMMG Banshee, and it is a recoil beast.🤦♂ So I put a high performance compensator on it, and the comp works, but OMG it is the most obnoxious gun at the range now.😱 Now I am looking to get an adjustable gas block and a linear compensator, so it isn't so obnoxious at the range.👍
Curious, I can understand reccomending the AR9's and AR15's, but I don't understand the Glock reccomendation. What does tuning or building an AR10 have to do with a Glock? I am geniunely curious about this as I have never owned a Glock.🤷♂
I don't know if I agree with the adjustable gas system because A) the Aero Precision adjustment screw bent on me and B) I want all the gas to blow the sandy topsoil we have here out of and to cycle the action. I change buffer weights instead so have a box full. I am blessed to live next to Desoto forest so found a shooting lane in the MS. pine savanna waaay off in the woods where no ones around.
What are your thoughts on running a 16 inch barrel without a muzzle device as a compromise to get a shorter gun?
