  1. Problem with the vortex scopes that I have ever had — every single one of them needed warranty service — regardless of cost… Can't say the same about my NF and my Leupold MK5 scopes… zero issues.

I don't understand the vortex devotion and fanboi ism — vortex I guess is great if you like being without a scope because you have to send it in for warranty. Otherwise — get a better built scope if you count on it to save your life.

  2. You can make the image at 10x sharper by moving the diopter. Many people will compromise and set their diopter so that the reticle is slightly less sharp at lower magnifications, but grants greater sharpness at 10x and keeps the reticle crisp at 10x. Yes, another tradeoff, but one that's usually pretty worth it

  3. Trying to decide between this optic and the PLXc 1-8 FFP. I am seeing a lot more advantages to this one over the PLXc. Like red dot level brightness, extra zoom, and IMO a better BDC reticle. Cost being no factor, if you had to pick between one or the other, what would you choose?
Also I was curious, because this optic is 1-10x, if it is set at 8x, does it have a significantly more forgiving eyebox than the PLXc does at 8x?

  4. If I was paying this much money I would go with the March shorty 1-10 LPVO. I bought the primary arms 1-8. I bought 2 for the price of one of these. It's just not worth the price IMHO. I think the trijicon is a better option than this.

  5. Get Daniel Defense PDW or this optic?

I know it’s different use cases but I live in an area that needs both. I have an 11.5 but was thinking of something smaller and quieter. Money money money.

  6. 1-10x's just arent there yet. Its a great quality scope but it can only be so good. Like Mike said its all about trade offs. The Vortex has done as good as job as can be done but its still not good enough.

The 1x is not usable unless you have the illumination on in my opinion. That is a minus. The plus is the dot is day light bright, but for me if you have an LPVO that always needs the dot at any magnification its a minus.

Compare this scope to the PLX and in my opinion you cant compare them. The PLX is a much better – more usable scope through the full range of magnification. The PLX is not daylight bright but its usable then add in the fact that at 1x you can see the reticle easily without the illumination. If you go through trees as Mike did at 1x you put the illumination on and you get the reticle.

Then add in the fact that the PLX is $1000 less and it becomes more of a no brainer.

I had been hoping for a while that Vortex would come out with the 1-8 Razor with some changes to the reticle. That would give the PLX a run for its money.

The three best pieces of glass I have looked through are the Vortex 1-10 although I wouldnt want one for reasons stated above. Also in that great glass bucket is the PLX and the Razor 1-6. The Razor is a great optic although the reticle doesnt wow me. I may be selling it but there is no doubt that it is a quality optic as everyone knows.

  7. I had both the razor 1-10 and the primary arms 2.5-10 and I still have the primary arms. The razor 1-10 is like looking through a straw at 10 power and is a lot darker image.

  8. I'd love your advice, I'm trying to select an optic for my KAC SR15. I'm currently stuck between deciding on this LPVO or the Elcan Spectre DR. I have watched both your videos on each optic but I'm still torn. My question to you is of you could only chose one for your SHTF rifle which would you chose and why.
    Thanks in Advance!

  9. Saw this on C_Does review and apparently it has a horrid eyebox

Starting to think LPVO caps out at 8x tbh, after that moving to an MPVO would just be the better option altogether.
