Mike describes the proper fitting for your rifle butt stock along with how to properly present it. Never forget, the lost art of iron sight shooting is highly dependent on consistency in your eye relief and butt stock placement.

There is zero reason to manipulate your stock length for cqb. Marines did cqb in Iraq with 20" barreled M16s and were fucking grim reapers. It comes down to how you manipulate the gun. Not stock length. Plus you never see either top competition or tactical shooters with the stock anywhere near the castle nut. You just don't. Length of pull is important
Eye to sight not sight to eye isnt that right??
off topic, trying to make a graphic/sticker, but google images (inspiration) show characters holding it wrong. is that an issue? MANY show the butt stock going under the arm, although they're simply just posing. is it ok to have an illustration of someone posing like that? (not firing or not active). others show it going into the elbow pocket. again, just posing, not shooting. i don't wanna sell something that has an incorrect depiction.
Fantastic video! Great info.
My only experience is with the A2 stock, thus as the position gets higher the distance from eyeball to sight increases. This makes the sight aperture appear bigger or smaller relative to the front sight. Yet, interestingly enough these variable relationships do not affect aiming as US Service Rifle Competition participants have proven.
Great video! Subscribed!
Great video. Thank you. I felt like I was reaching a bit when I had my B5 stock all the way out (6), and it just didn't feel right. I also like your advice on bringing it up to the cheek, and then sliding back. Great video. Thanks!
Exactly answered my questions.

I feel like your video is the only one that addresses comfort and practicality with an ar platform. All these length of pull videos use the elbow method but for me that takes my head too far from my sights and feels like I'm reaching. Thanks for making me feel not so crazy for keeping a shorter stock distance than length of pull
Thanks so much for this, you just confirmed they way I've been shooting mine for years and I know there are tons of opinions on this, but this way is what works best for me.
Man these videos are people who lack common sense, it’s like saying “ hey chew your food or else you’ll choke ,see you next week friends the our tactical take “ 🙂
If your looking to shoot and use your money usefully , go find a performance shooter
And fail sooner at a local match. You don’t ask a doctor on how to flip a eggs 🍳
What if I can’t do this way ?
Like when I pull the stock to my face, the stock is way too high on my shoulder (maybe bc I have a long neck ?), how could I do ?
Very good video guys. Very informant. 👍🏼
Good information but it is hard to focus on what you are saying when you have this club music in the background blaring . I would rather just hear you.
What if you’re in a state where they have the dumbest laws like the dumb fixed stock law
Best description I heard of length of pull. Thanks
can you please post the set up for that AR it looks perfect
That’s exactly how I learned to shoot. You guys are the first ones I’ve seen show how this is supposed to be. New subscriber
Nice, but I've noticed that in the "in practice" show, you did actually move your head a bit down, and the stock was not so high as a minunte before that
Great job, guys. I cringe when I see some people carry their weapon and engage targets. As a former Marine, thanks for this video. Hope your channel grows quickly. Create great content and they will come!
haha how did you find an english literature PhD who explains guns
I have two questions. One, when slide the buttstock from my cheek to my shoulder pocket I have to turn my head towards the rifle to line it up with the rear sight, any tips for that? Two, does the butt stock go closer to the chest?
Great job guys
Awesome tips !
