At least four people were killed after a gunman opened fire at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia. Authorities identified the suspected shooter as 14-year-old Colt Gray.
During a press conference by officials, it was revealed that the suspect used an “AR-platform style” weapon.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigations also identified the victims as Richard Aspinwall and Christina Irmie, both math teachers, and students Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, both 14.
According to the GBI, the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office began receiving calls at around 10:20 a.m. Officers responded to the high school within minutes and almost immediately encountered the suspected shooter, who dropped his weapon and surrendered immediately.
“Obviously the shooter was armed, and our school resource officer engaged him and the shooter quickly realized that if he did not give up, that it would end with an OIS — an officer-involved shooting,” Smith said.
According to Sheriff Jud Smith, the shooter has already been interviewed. Smith said that he is not aware of any connection between the student and the victims, but they are looking into all aspects surrounding the incident.
According to U.S. News & World Report, there are approximately 1,900 students enrolled at the school. It is one of two high schools in the Barrow County Public Schools district. The school is located about 40 miles northeast of Atlanta.

The reason why they did not do anything when they were given notice a year ago. Is because of this community? The police and those in charge of societies functions are just like his parents, and he is. You can bet your life If he was a black kid, they would have definitely done something

How would a 14 year old get an AR, the only way is the father, or the FBI, whoever it was, should be sitting in the jail cell next to him!
His previous behavior IS Relevant! And it was less than 1 1/2 years ago not in the past. His behavior and the suspicion that it was a potential threat bears directly on this event NOW!
There needs to be a weapons check every day and we can PREVENT this from happening.
Headlines "AR-platform style" = NOT an AR-15 and if they sued whoever made the gun he used for patent infringement, they'd lose. AR-style is a made up term that has no real meaning.

So there was a phone call warning there w0uld be a shooting at that school and yet he walked right in and started shooting. Completely preventable. Now 4 people are dead because somebody failed at their job.
So there was a phone call that morning saying there would be a shooting and yet he still walked in there with a weapon and started shooting. This should have been prevented.
How about looking at your gun laws in the US. Who the hell needs a gun like that? Outlaw them. Like here in Canada. Time for gun control!!!!!
