In this video I review my favorite “EDC” flashlight.
We’ll compare the original version to the more modern model.
I’ve owned these since they first came out around 20 years ago.
They’re the perfect size and brightness for use as a general purpose inspection light.

  1. My current EDC inspection light is an OLIGHT i5T Plus (2 AA) and it's fantastic. Just barely longer than the Streamlight you showcased, but it has 4 different brightness modes ranging from 15 lumens, to a whopping 550!!!! šŸ¤ÆšŸ¤ÆšŸŒž

Streamlights are great, and I've owned quite a few. But I love OLIGHT flashlights more. Olight offers the same quality of Streamlight, but they're brighter, less expensive, and let you choose a plethora of battery options. ā™„ļø

  2. Dipping it in Tuaca is a fantastic idea!!
I've owned quite a few Streamlights in the past 23 yrs, and they've all been pretty good to me. Able to withstand MANY drops. Maybe my favorite thing about them is you can buy every piece individually to rebuild them. And if you find a tool truck or a dealer that likes you, they'll even replace worn-out switches and modules and things for free, under their lifetime warranty. I've had a few of mine rebuilt this way.

  3. I carried a similar light for ten years. Now I have USB LED lights that I get from AliExpress or Temu or Amazon that are rectangular and have magnetic tails and simple UI. I love the rectangular shape compared with round of tubular shape in the pocket, especially if you have to lie on the ground for anything
