  1. As mentioned, the green tip denotes M855, NATO type classified as a standard FMJ ball round, with a 62 gr copper jacketed projectile, with cannelure, consisting of a hardened steel tip over a lead core, rated at, if memory serves, between 3060 and 3113 fps from a M16A2. This is the round developed in comjunction with the A2 and the M249 in the 1980s. While not technically armor piercing, it does offer enhanced penetration of some body armor and barriers, and can be hard on steel targets. InRange and Buffman both have videos of this defeating some levels of rated AR500 plate armor out of 20-inch barrels.
This ammo was the standard issue 5.56mm ball round until it was eventually replaced by M855A1 a few years ago. It isn't the most accurate stuff, but does okay as a stockpile ammo and range fodder unless you want to save your steel targets. In my experience, it actually performs well as an antipersonel round provided you give it enough velocity; a big advantage of using the M16A2/A4 that the round was developed for is that it turns practice ammo into duty ammo. M855 will fragment reliably out to about 150 meters from that Colt AR15A4, and will still be packing over 1600 fps at 500 meters.

  2. this seem the best option for a c7a2 clone or even a mk12 , you got the stock and only need to change some stuff vs a m4 or more modern ar setup where you will need to change a lot more parts

  3. All ways rember.lite lube ur bolt s i use white.lum grease it runs dsm good when hot lite oil runs off after long shooting must keep um.lubed all.overafter u shootbu clean after 1000 rounds take dn your bolt lube piston rings ygtogo

  4. These new Colt AR's are not made by CZ. They are made in the Colt factory in West Hartford, Conn. by the same employees that have made Colt for the government. CZ is supporting Colt financially as in a merger. I have the Colt A4, and it is every much a Colt as the one I carried in the Corps.

  5. Nice video. I purchased one of these full size Colt rifles about 10 months ago. Mine is marked AR15 A4, not Carbine and came with a detachable carry handle. About the same time, I purchased the 16" collapsable stock CR6820 marked "Carbine" and it did not come with a carry handle. On the box sticker, it said M4. Colt should take a little more care on their rifle markings since they know most people who buy the Colts are picky about the rifle markings. It is disappointing to see your lower marked Carbine.

  6. Marvelous. I remember when I did a familiarization course where the M-16 was the star. We squids got to shoot a 100 rounds apiece. While the full auto was cool it burned through a 20 round magazine quick.

  7. Great video! Short, succinct.
I actually heard the bullet ring the steel, just before the report.
I've always been amazed at how a little tiny projectile can travel faster than the speed of sound.
I hope that doesn't sound to novice. I have many years experience with the AR platforms.

  8. As a Class 3 SOT from the 1990's, I remember, back in the 1970's & 1980's, many persons (idiots) converted Colt ar's to "full auto" resulting in federal violations. Many manufacturers made modifications to prevent their product from being easily converted. Colt and other were smart to modify their lowers and probably saved many people from becoming felons. Nice product review.

  9. The newer generation Colt ar-15 are junk. The quality control on Colt is not what it use to be, the better quality ones are sold only to the military. I'd stay away from newer generation Colt ar-15, since there are way better made ar-15 from other sources than Colt, they are not a patriotic company and cater the best ar-15 to the government only.

  10. Nice! I have (2) colt's both are Match target, one with fixed carry handle and the other a flat-top. Just like what I trained with in USMC. I may have to add an Colt Ar15A4 to my collection! Thanks for the video.

  11. Ive had a AK47 for 20 years but never had an AR. But id love to have a full lenth AR like i had in Marines and this Colt is as close as it gets! I think im gonna order one from Buds before its to late. Thanks for sharing man ๐Ÿ‘

  12. Wow. That one reminds me of my Security Specialist days in the USAF. Not quite like the one I carried but very similar. The green tip lets you know that the round is capable of penetrating armor.

  13. Love the A4. I have the Colt A4 and an FN military surplus A4 upper on a PSA lower. Add a Knights Armament or P&S quad rail, an ACOG, and an old M961 SureFire light and you have an instant Marine Corp classic.

  14. You got red mud.dirt hill in back ground and a Southern accent but no pocket knife in your pocket knife to open the accessory bag and what the hell redneck.Give me your address so I can send you a buck or case knife or something from South Carolina.๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚
