Funnily enough, dealing with anxiety taught me this as slow, deep breathing can help with anxiety. So when I started shooting and I need to be calm I started doing the same exercises and my shooting got better
I’ve noticed that if I squeeze the trigger on my exhales, I get more of a “surprise” when the trigger goes off. Not that it’s a physical surprise, but a mental surprise. My body still anticipates the recoil, but my mind doesn’t allow me to flinch.
That’s why I slooooooow my breathing down a lot when I shoot.
that works for ELR. but when I'm in PRS events I always hold my breath at each shot. the adrenaline is already going, my heart rate is usually up and I'm breathing ALOT of breaths/minute, therefore I can't time shots with my breath.
So essentially you still hold your breath. Beginning or end of your respiratory pause, its still holding your breath. Heres the definition infact – cease breathing temporarily. "he held his breath under the water"

Bullshit. "Loose your sight" …bro it takes literally minutes before you start to black out.
A lot of good games have you exhale and then the scope goes steady
On the exhale
BRASS. Breathe, Relax, Aim, Squeeze, Shoot. At least that's how I was taught, with relax referring to manually controlling/slowing your breathing.
YOU ARE NOW BREATHING MANUALLY. YOU ARE WELCOME
I fire at the bottom of my breathe when my body is the most calm and still.
So basically holding your breath?
So hold your breath but differently
“Do you hold your breath when you take your shots?” Brother I don’t even have a chaser when I take my shots
Soooooo holding your breath
Yeah holding your breath also increases blood pressure and blood vessel constriction which will mess with your vision.

Where did you get your training?
If you’re holding your breath long enough for your vision to go blurry your problem isn’t breath control it’s target acquisition control.
Ie: holding your breath…
You know, I dont really pay attention to if I'm holding my breath or not when that big buck walks out at 200 yards. But I know I've never missed!!!!
Jk lol, I know we're talking long range, precision, "hit them in the head at 1,000 yards" shooting here.
