On Monday, the FBI released more details related to the suspect Thomas Crooks in the assassination attempt on former President Trump. The agency has gained access to the phone belonging to Thomas Matthew Crooks, the 20-year-old who opened fire on Trump at his Butler, Pennsylvania rally on Saturday, killing one person and injuring two others in addition to Trump.

Fox News reports that the weapon Crooks used, a DPMS AR-15 5.56, is now at the FBI’s forensic labs in Quantico, Virginia, along with his phone, laptop and at least one Improvised Explosive Device from his car. More than a dozen guns were found in Crooks’ home.

National security analyst Hal Kempfer joins LiveNOW’s Andrew Craft to discuss the latest developments.

  1. Another station said he also bought a 5ft ladder on Saturday.

So…he buys ammo and a ladder the day of, and not a single person in that building heard or saw someone putting a ladder against the building, heard someon on the roof?

  2. If the Secret Service pushed back against criticism by saying it bolstered protection back in June, why would it need to work at making sure nothing like this ever happens again? That’s self-refuting and needs not rebuttal. That argument falls on its own. Secret service needs to be held accountable for their massive failure.

  3. AR does not stand for assult rifle smh. And did they say this is fast moving?!?! This was the slowest response to an investigation of the attempted assassination of a politician of any kind! Wth are they talking about smh
