This rifle will do the job. So, just be aware that there is a tier where you can still be on a budget but still get something good enough to defend yourself.

I don’t understand why AR dudes think they need a decked out better than military grade rifle for it to sit in their safe 80% of the time and then shoot it once in a blue moon. They would absolutely freak out if they seen what people were using to defend themselves just over 100 years ago.
