Its only a problem in video games and cameras because they usually don’t focus correctly past the hexcomb and instead just obfuscates vision. Real eyes can see through it like a microwave door or pulling a shirt over your head and you see through the little holes.
The only thing the honeycomb really does is make the optic a little darker. Your eye ignores the pattern but the slight amount of light you lose does still darken the optic a bit.
I use red dots for airsoft, and I leave the cover on the front so it doesn't get shot out. Unless you're using a magnifier, you can keep the front covered, and it still works if you keep both eyes open, like you should be doing anyway.
You can totally block the red dot with tape in the front and as long as you have both eyes open, you are target focused, and you can still see the red dot, you can still use the red dot because of the way your brain combines the two images it gets from both eyes. This won't work with a magnifier but the point is that if you can block out the front of the red dot with a solid obstruction and still be able to use it effectively, you can most certainly use a honeycomb

Pantyhose is a good and cheap alternative to honeycomb.
-Former Solder
For a while before good glass manufacturing, red dots used to be totally opaque/solid and you wouldn’t see through them.
What’s the point of a kill flash?
You can put a piece of tape over the lense and still use the optic if you're using your eyes correctly.
The honeycomb

it's the same with a rifle scope on a ar with a tall front sight post
So if you can’t focus past the honeycomb in a situation where you need it, you’re in the wrong profession.

What is the point of the honeycomb?
Towards the sun = love honeycombs
Away from the sun = hate honeycombs
Too use it properly you have to look through cantered not at an angle
Its like looking in to a microwave i guess
glaz from siege???
Fuckinf sucks when its raining though 😂
Its Glazes scope from rainbow 6 sige
I'm assuming it's for glare from the sun or lights?
If you walk up to a fence and then look at something way past the fence the fence will become blurry as if it's not even there same idea…

Do people not know how to focus/unfocus their eyes? Its such a useful skill to have and i thought it just comes naturally
It’s like looking into a microwave
You shouldn’t be looking through the dot anyway
So can you use it without a magnifier? From the video, it appears just hexes but not as much with magnifier
When you’re actually shooting, your eyes shouldn’t be focused on the reticle. You should be looking through the reticle at your target. Then shoot
Id rather have little issue seeing than no issue being seen by enemy snipet

Why the hontcomb on a holographic sight? One of eotech selling points is the non reflective glass. Is it for the magnifier?
Bro thinks he’s glaz
Worst case scenario (pack the grid with mud) it would still act like an old school occluded eye gun sight. Basically the first gen red dot.
All my hexes live in texis.
If you can see the honeycomb, you’re focusing on the wrong thing.
Nobody thinks that
Bro I can do it thru the phone it seems good enough
I stuck some window screen repair patches to my optic and it works remarkably well as a kill flash for 1/10th the cost
Funny that's what my eyes do when I drive and it rains but I don't use the wipers.😂
Rember don’t look at your scope look through your scope
Hiding the glint lmao who the fuck y’all think you’re fighting
Dude when did these come out? I couldnt find em a couple years back and had to glue a black mosquito net to the hood
What magnifier mount is that?
