Lucas is tired of “weird” guns in the armory so he purchased 4 of his favorite uppers to build out and train with.

  1. I don't get the BCM or the DD push. I know a lot of folks aren't military but want to play military but dam, these prices? They are pricey and from what I have seen at the range, they don't shoot any better grouping than a gun priced at half the price. Most folks arent military and wont use them at the military's level, FYI I was and did. And most shooters wont really shoot the amount where its makes a big difference between lower cost models. I and my sons have beat BCM and DD users multiple times with M&P middy's or Saint Victor's. I watched a older guy with a savage MSR Recon and PA SLX scope beat 6 guys with various types of expensive AR's and a couple thousand dollars of optics and accessories and make some real pocket change while doing it after they harrased him about having such a low level gun. I was really surprised by that and called both BCM and DD and their response was to expect a fist size grouping! I told them, if you cant get at least 1 moa for a $1800 to $2400 gun you are ripping your customers off. The usual answer is the high price guns will outlast a lower priced one, not true unless you are a competitive shooter. For most normal shooters amount of shooting, most of the lower cost guns will run fine for the persons lifetime.

  2. My first AR was an RRA, great gun! Shot my buddies BCM and immediately went home and ordered a BCM upper. That was 12 years ago, I still have it (got out of shooting for 8 years) and it still shoots tacks. Love that upper and won't go with anyone else.

  3. Iโ€™d like to see the reliability of an upper purchased directly from a store or ordered by one of us. Just saying, if any rifle manufacturer knows itโ€™s going to an โ€œinfluencerโ€, they are going to quadruple check it and make sure itโ€™s perfection before shipping it. This would be a super cool test between the mid-lower upper tier brands from bcm, aero, dd, Geissele, LaRue, pws, Ruger, etcโ€ฆ Just to see how they perform out of the box with the same lowers, same stock, same ammo, same optic, etcโ€ฆ Iโ€™d love to try out a bcm but they were pretty much sold out last time I was looking and ended up with a pws build thatโ€™s been rock solid (as it should be for the price) . Canโ€™t say the same for my Aero, grid defense, or Anderson uppers.

  4. Sorry Lucas but you ainโ€™t getting a fully kitted BCM upper for $750 ( unless itโ€™s blemโ€™d or a big sale)

    16โ€ MCR upper ? $850 +
    BCM Bcg ? $250
    Charging handle ?( cheapest) $55

    So just under $1200

The new colt with quad rail upper -$1100

    Similar Spikes Tactical – $850- 1000

Still the BCM is quality and cheaper than a Daniels Defense upper or LMT or KAC

  5. Love BCM. Standard basic M4. F marked front sight with a carbine quadrail. Standard stock. Just a semi auto M4. No vertical grip. The current fad guns with the mlok and keymod rails are not military combat, to me. The fad configuration is a Chevelle with clown shoe sized rims and rubber band tires. The basic M4 is a factory spec Chevelle as it rolled off the assembly line. No chopped tube LPVOs. ACOGs, Aimpoint, or Eotech sights, DBALs, PEQ15, NGAL lasers and a Surefire M952 light. Painted Desert tan/sand . Perfect gun. Just my opinion, of course.
