In the real war you will move more than shoot. And you shall change your position after every series of shots. So these heavy barrerls are good for home/sofa shooters and have nothing common with any real war. And every gramm of the rifle weight is the issue.
Reason to get a lighter barrel, to get a lighter gun.

My girlfriend hunts with a Ruger hunter, 9.5 lbs with a vortex viper pa scope. She walks close to a mile back to her tree stand. Goes at least 6 to 8 times each hunting season. Only time she asks me to carry her rifle is when we are dragging one out of the bush. We try to go around the prickly ash, or it'll have ya looking like ya sparring with a bobcat
