NRA-ILA | Georgia: Legislature Adjourns Sine Die from 2024 Session

Last night, the Georgia Legislature adjourned sine die from its 2024 legislative session. This session, the legislature passed House Bill 1018, which prohibits the use of firearm/ammunition specific merchant category codes by payment processors. This is an important protection for gun owners, protecting private purchasing information from abuse by third parties. This legislation is now on Governor Kemp’s desk awaiting his signature.

The NRA would like to thank House Speaker Jon Burns, Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones, Representative Jason Ridley (R-HD 6) who sponsored the bill and led the charge in the House, Senator Carden Summers (R-SD 13) who carried the bill on the Senate floor, and all of our members and fellow Second Amendment advocates who engaged this legislative session.
