  1. have a feeling you will not be happy with the durability of the slx piggy back set up
i have a pa rs-10 on a vortex 5x prism on one of my rifles
glass quality is good but man the lateral eye box is tight
nothing is quite like a acog

  2. thanks for the warning, Chris. Speaking of cheap gear, what red dot would you recommend for a budget of $400? Go for one of the "higher-tier" Holosuns, or is there a better brand at that price point?

  3. Went shooting with my new m4ish build a couple hours after watching this. It has skinny colt handguards and a streamlight protac HLX mounted to a Midwest industries FSB mount. I had the pressure pad taped to the handguard. After about 100 rounds I checked the light because the handguards were quite hot….. my fricken light wouldn’t turn on unless I slightly unscrewed the tail cap out and screwed it back in. That’s a bummer, I’ve had this light for about 3 years and have had it on 3 different rifles. It worked ok then and handled the heat decently well. I’m not sure if it’s the pressure pad not being able to handle the heat or if it’s the light that can’t take it, but ultimately it doesn’t matter… I’m saving up for another Surefire lol

  4. Don't know what it was but as soon as I saw this light I was turned off by it. The charging port just looks like a failure point and the tape switch plug in didn't impress me either.

  5. Interesting. I ordered one of these by accident, intending to order the HLX Pro. When it arrived I was struck by how huge it is. I sent it back. I have 1 HLX Pro that is doing fine so far but hasn’t been run hard yet. I ordered a second one for another rifle and Amazon delivered one that had already been used. It had the exact same break on the switch jack. I returned that too. I’ll be taking its replacement to some training later this month. We will see how it holds up.

  6. I've been running one of these lights for 4 months now and I've had 0 issues with it. I've had no complaints when using it at my monthly night shoots as well, it's been good to me so far (along with my TLR-7A on my pistol) BUT this was my first rifle light, so I don't have anything to compare it to. But for the price I can't complain. Shame to see this specific light be such a dud.

  7. So for those of us that have one, what are some things that we can do to mitigate the issues that you’ve encountered?
I have had good experiences with mine, but I don’t really push it, I’d like to have some preventative measures to try to get the most life out of it.
Thanks for your honesty and willingness to never shill🫡

  8. As a surefire and streamlight dealer I can say that i have never seen a flashlight "just break" there is another side of the story. That said there have been some QA Control issues on both Surefire and Streamlight. Tat said Streamlight unlike surefire stands behind their product. Reach out to them and they will send you a replacement. If you are just going to com eon here and flat out bash them for 1 issue with your exaggerated stories I have to ask, Who paid for this video?

  9. You look good Chris. Glad your doing well. Wish you’d make more videos more often, but I know there’s a lot of work that goes into it and it’s a pia. Anyway, awesome video as usual dude. Stay strong fellow Cane. 💪👊🔥

  10. I have the other protac: HL-X Pro.. It's only 1000 lumens, but it's 50k candella. Much better at reaching out. It doesn't have the foreskin sleeve thing or goofy charging port. I do like the dual purpose tailcap that has the plug and switch both built in. I wish it was cheaper though, for what you get… I just run mine without the remote switch.. and only use the button on the tail cap. It has been working fine for me.

  11. I had a SL protacXL that worked good for a month or two then the pad and then the push button both failed ended up getting a arisaka SL to sf adapter and has been good for about 6months now but I won’t be getting another plus the sf turbo pros are my favorite and don’t really need much more than that.
