Looking to fix up my SG553 LB with an Aimpoint CompM4 & Aimpoint 3x-P. Opinions on the setup?
Stuck between the Exps 2, MRO and the Aimpoint Pro. Think I’m going to go with the Pro and put it on a Unity riser mount.
So, another great summary. Congrats and thank you. It is great to be an American 🇺🇸.
I have built a short barreled AR, setting it up for close quarters, under 100 yards, day/night. (Have other rifles for different purposes)
I am honing in on eotech green circle dot reticle. Thinking I can augment with 3x multiplier for longer range…impressed by the ruggedness, field of view, successful legacy of professional usage for my mission, etc.
Thoughts?
Extremely well done as always. Thank you so much for every area of your service. We really, really appreciate the experience and the confidence.
I have an Aimpount CompML3 on one AR and a PRO on the other.
Just returned brand new Hs510c because it would not zero or adjust at all.
I got a store credit back on OpticsPlanet and I am not sure if I should try again or just spend more.
I love how Holosun you can go into a dark room or bright outside and it changes brightness automatically and it’s actually probably the best for my eyes
After using the XM157, everything else is irrelevant, but more down to earth I have fallen in love with the Holosun AEMS aka the Chinese Mailbox
Man I’ve been buying Romeo red dots. I was just at the range and eat my 2 one. My buddies want me to go with the Aimpoint you picked. Might have to buy the bullet and do the aimpoint. Thanks for the video.
What is it, especially with americans, that they tend to test stuff for what it is not intended for? If "you need a hammer, then buy a hammer " kind of situation.
You would not test a binocular shooting at it, you would not buy a bmw 7-series to offroad with, and you would not test the quality of a rifle, by ramming the barrel crown into a concrete wall or pry open a door with it 😅
ta44 goat
Sig Romeo 4XT-Pro is my overall favorite at the moment.
Just picked up a HS 510c and like the view and reticle. Time to bang on it
Thumbnails 😅
I feel like expensive red dots just don’t make sense anymore since eotechs can be gotten for 450- 600
The parallax I've seen out of the MRO is a total deal breaker in my eyes. Team EOTech, here.
What riser mount are you using for your 510c? I need a little more height for mine?
You still running that aim point on the black out defense? I'm looking for a solid dot.
When the sparc solar first came out they had issues with them running down batteries. Im pretty sure they fixed it pretty quickly
Biggest bummer is Aimpoint does t do green
Aimpoint and eotech agreed
I'm amazed the Leupold Prismatic never got more attention. I absolutely love mine and use it on my Benelli M4 with slugs and 00buck. It has as close to 0 parallax as I can tell. It is illuminated and etched glass so it still works with dead batteries.
Waiting on PA 5x new Prism for astigmatism!
My Holosun 510c is way better than my Aimpoint T2. Aimpoint is insanely overpriced.
I can't agree more. I love my Aimpoint PRO it's a tank and crisp as heck
A few years ago I bought two Trijicon red dots for my wife and I for competitive pistols.
They both stopped working after less than a magazine. Same failure: intermittent dot.
Trijicon was completely unhelpful: their customer service representative just kept repeating that their optics had a great reputation and were used by many police and military agencies.
Research on the internet revealed that the battery contacts tended to be loose and people were "shimming" the contacts.
On a $700 optic? You've got to be kidding.
Fortunately the people I bought this from had a good return policy. I sent them back and went with another brand. Never used them since.
I was torn between a mro and magnifier and a lpvo. I bought the mro and 3x because I shoot between 100 and 300 yards.
Aside from trijicon and aimpoint the rest are 💩. Aimpoints wear the crown in red dots and trjicon made the cut for magnified combat optics but there are just as good other options, but red dots? The swedes own it
What sling you use there
I had an Aimpoint Pro,I replaced it with a T2.The t2 is super light, tough enough to survive a drop test that killed the comp m5.I bought it in 2015 and never turn off in those 5 yrs.I have since changed the battery.
Eotech 512 brand new for $350 was a no brainer for me. I like absolute cowitness though so didn’t have to raise price for fancy mount
I had a similar issue with the SPARC Solar, I had bought two of them. One has been bulletproof, the other I sent back because it ate batteries. In fact I also sent back the replacement as well and the third time was the charm. Love the form factor of open turrets like the MRO and solar backup. I trust them now that I’ve had them a while.
Sig Romeo 8t is the best red dot on the market
Yup , Aimpoint PRO , listen to what the man is telling you , he knows .
I have 2 Aimpoint Comp ML2's. I have one on my deer shotgun…haven't hunted for 9 years…gort it out a few months ago just to check it out. I thought I had turned it off when I put it away, but I had only turned it to the lowest setting. It still worked on high, even though it had been on for 9 years. IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT!!
Holosun HE515CT and PA 3x micro prism on my new builds, both are really damn good for the money. The 515CT packs a lot of goodness in a small 4oz package, and like a tank being a ipv8 rated titanium chassis, well worth the extra cost imo.
The term you were looking for when describing the reticle starburst is called bloom. A super bright reticle will bloom.
I don't think I heard you say why but any reason why you didn't mention sig optics
Aimpoint T-2
