Learned to clean my service rifles, at the Basic School, Marine Corps Base Quantico, circa 1993. Damn Lance Corporal Armorers fukked with us 2ndLts when it was time to return crew served weapons to the Armory. Always on late Friday afternoons. Thankfully, we kept our M16A2 service rifles in our barracks rooms (locked into the wall of our closets, yeah, back then, officers were trusted). Nevertheless, our rifles were immaculate. We, young 2ndLts, had to set the example, even when no one is looking. Now I need to go clean my AR-15 Smith and Wesson Commandos 😊

USAF SP from back in the 1980s. We were issued the original M-16 without the forward assist. The arms room crews could be somewhat difficult then too, especially with The Pig. I found that chrome BCGs were easier to keep clean.
It was good until you advised putting oil in the EXHAUST holes. After you said not to oil the gas rings

Chadd, I have grown to hate jeans since 1986. I love my 5.11 Tactical trousers. I wear them EVERY DAY and they are comfortable off the shelf and last for over 10 years. I buy them when on sale in my local Weapons Station NEX. I am retired Active Duty Army 7 years and Georgia Guard and Reserve 17 years.
Frog lube for me. Except for the barrel. Saves me alot of time.

I commented on Hickok45`s videos about applying nano-coating onto the weapon to eliminate any build-up. I don`t know if it would work, but you`ll never know. Also, if you buy a sonic cleaner (the one that works with distilled water) you`ll get anything out of the gun in 2 hours and you just lubricate it. 😀

Been Following Yall for a while now. I’m going to take this as a sign to get my first one. I was looking at them at gun show today and this is the first video I see is Chadd telling how to clean it. I always look for the sign in life.

When you get back to the barracks after arrange day, take a nap for two hours, then spray your weapon down with brake cleaner rinse it off in the sink of the laundry room. It will come out sparkling clean, dry it off watch TV for half an hour, so the rest of the water evaporates, then turn it into the arms room you’ll never get kicked back airborne
