One video I could not find on YouTube and I was genuinely curious… is how old scopes compare to new scopes in terms of zoom ability and glass clarity. My argument is that $500 scopes today are a magnitude better than those used in WW2 or Vietnam. I learned that iconic rifles like psg1 had only a max x6 scope, Dragonov x4, Mosin Nagants x3 or x4. The fact that variable scopes now have better magnification and arguably maybe even glass clarity would make modern sniping capabilities miles ahead of the past. But nobody on YouTube ever compared modern scope vs a historical scopes.
Is the system for the turret better or different on higher dollar scopes.
