NRA-ILA | Ohio: Gun Owner Credit Card Privacy Bill Passes the Senate

Yesterday, the Senate Veterans and Public Safety Committee passed Senate Bill 148, The Second Amendment Privacy Act. The bill was quickly sent to the Senate floor where it passed by a vote of 25-7. This legislation now goes to the House where it will receive a committee assignment.

SB 148 will prohibit the use of firearm-related Merchant Category Codes, which could be used to track gun owners and create a registry of lawful purchases. This is an important protection for gun owners, protecting private purchasing information from abuse by third parties.

NRA-ILA is actively working to pass this legislation and will keep you informed as it moves through the legislative process.
