In those 7 States that are not free, the M4 and all SBRs are banned. No fun there. You taught me that the M14 and AR15 are both semi-auto with the major difference being how the gas is used to reload from the magazine. So, there must be something in production cost as well, especially with modern milling techniques and/or use of polymer components . Yes? So, what is the percent range of milspec parts in a civilian rifle?

IMHO the "forward assist" is the most useless feature ever added to a rifle.

I never have seen 14.5 inches on a rifle (minus muzzle device) being "short"…

Until I compared it to a 24 inch AR-15.

I guess the boundaries have to start some where.
