Judge Kacsmaryk in the Britto v. ATF case stated this:
“The Court is certainly sympathetic to ATF’s concerns over public safety in the wake of tragic mass shootings. The Rule ” embodies salutary policy goals meant to protect vulnerable people in our society” But public safety concerns must be addressed in ways that are lawful. This Rule is Not. For the foregoing reasons, the court GRANTS the motion and STAYS the rule in it’s entirety.”
HOWEVER, if you were one of those poor soles that Registered your gun during that 120 day period. Those guns are now officially considered SBR’s which means you can put a stock on them but now you can’t cross state lines with it unless you get permission from the ATF.

the whole court case behind pistol braces was stupid from the beginning now don't get me wrong I hate the ATF however I find it absolutely appalling that we had multiple Pro Second Amendment organizations filing all this legal paperwork to fight the pistol brace rule while completely ignoring the real legal battle and that is the NFA in its entirety the fact that short-barreled rifles shotguns and suppressors are regulated items that is the real issue

I NEVER did any of that registration nonsense because of all the regulations surrounding SBR's (of which the tax stamp is the least of them). Colion Noir mentioned one (the travel restriction). But there's more. That (now) SBR can't be transferred in the future as easily as any other firearm you own (look it up). It's just not worth the hassle, and I (and millions of others) just opted to wait it out. Good thing we did

Its a really bad joke when humanity has arrived at nearly circa 2024 and there are still uptight regulating assholes out there who pretend that people shouldn't have a fundamental human right to defend themselves against "Any" aggressor, by any means necessary. I'm absolutely certain there were many like myself who never removed any of the braces from their own collection. Additionally, and in case anyone hasn't noticed, the American Government is entirely out of touch with reality, and more importantly, they aren't in charge of anything anymore.

And the anti-gun people suffer yet another blow. In the time it takes anti-gun people to get magazine capacity limits in one jurisdiction, more than one state can (and does with more and more frequency) go to Constitutional Carry. The tide has very much turned against gun control.

Except… its not "dead", its suspended for the moment but the actual case the injunction sprang from hasn't ended yet. And the ATF is going to appeal to get a stay of that injunction anyway so don't be counting your chickens before they've hatched kids.

Amazing how the Court ruled this uncontitutional, truly, but they allowed for Illinois to keep "assault weapons" banned, despite civilians not complying, and police not enforcing.
