What attributes make one rifle more shootable than another? Here I test a #Sig556 against an #ar15 from the same era, to try and see which one has the better shootability, (controls, recoil, weight and balance).

Im like you with the sloped down stocks. Never enjoyed the m16/ m4 straight stock.
Very cool video, looking forward to the next one!
Jeff do you prefer AFG to hand stops?
I still have my SIG 556 Xi. That was the last version before Sig discontinues it. I agree with the issue with the Select lever. The 556 Xi version appears to be a bit lighter than the previous models. It looks like Sig finally began to offer a good version of the 556 when they moved on to the MCX.
I'm a big fan of SG550 series which the 556 is based on, beautiful guns
Interesting how the lower optic and dropped down stock points better in light of all the super height over bore people run these days. I realize there’s reasons for it and those aren’t necessarily competition guns, but still interesting to consider.
Looking forward to the next comparison video!
Hello, I was watching an older news show from around 2012 and it showed a SF soilder in Afghanistan with a m16 A4 that had a LPVO. The upper was an 20 in A4 with the A2 style front sight but the lower was set up with a precision stock. Was that a norm or were they using that as a stop gap for a DMR? Thanks
Awesome idea! I hope this will be a large series? Really interested in the Hk93 and the Spear LT against the AR. And you started off with a beautiful rifle.
MP5 vs any blowback pcc would be a neat episode!
bay 5 just blanketed in brass after this
Black Ops 2 SWAT 556❤
they never caught on because they're expensive and were never easy to find anywhere.
Nice work! Looking forward to the next one!
but you did not take into account that you shot the Sig second so you had practice before it.
Krebs customs used to make an extended safety selector which completely overcomes the selector placement issues. It extends and angles down to make is closer to operating a standard AR selector.
Really enjoyed, thanks
I’ve switched to my Sig 556 being my “main” or “favorite” rifle. The recoil is just so nice. Being an AK guy I appreciate for obvious reasons. Put 551 handguards on it and the balance is so much better, along with looking slicker. Also, since 7.62×39 is closer to 5.56 in price than it’s ever been, I felt like switching away from 7.62
Jeff, i think there is something wrong with the audio. When i put my headphones on, the audio only comes out from left (it's not the problem of my headphones because it plays other videos, even the ads fine)
I love the look on the sig but the police sniper is the one I lust after
I think the 556/553/552 variant is underrated
Most of the video is left audio channel only
