  1. The C Products mag is the best for 7.62×39 AR 15s. Troy and C products are in the list for 5.56. I tried the original MFT but after sitting loaded for 2 years, rounds started popping out when handled. I haven't tried the new ones…let me know what you think of them. ASC has been good also. ASC runs great in Colt style 9mm, but C products is king there also.

  2. Lancers all the way. I first beat the heck out of three with a “sacrificial workhorse AR” and they outperformed 3 Pmags that eventually cracked apart from the same abuse. Gave all my surviving pmags away, amassed a lineup of 16 for my SHTF go-gear.

  3. Metal mags; whether it be Duramag, OKAY-Surefeed mags, etc.!

I've used and loved polymer-based mags such as PMAGs, Lancer, Hex, etc.

But metal mags are always what I enjoy using and returning to.

    Enjoy polymer
    Return to tradition

  4. I've tested over 60 different brands/models of AR mags and my top-3 (in really no specific order, so alphabetical it would be) are: Daniel Defense, Magpul PMAG Gen2 and Troy Battlemag. A lot of good mags nowadays, but only those 3 never failed in all my tests.

  5. I only have one but I would like to add the mission first tactical mag as at least an honorable mention. I have the windowed one and I like the way it feels and fits in the hand. I don’t have a ton of rounds through it but it’s a solid choice.
Honestly tho, for the price of pmags, why on earth would you choose to get anything different for a dollar or two less

  6. Well you blew it! The very best magazine from a 72 yr old vet that has owned and owns every magazine you could imagine and some you don't know about. is…The HK contract 1994-95 maritime magazine. I bought a case, yes a case of them when I had a chance. they are machine tight welded seems no spot welds at all. it is in itself a masterpiece of engineering. It is as smooth as a tuned 1911 series 70 completion pistol. the folder does not wiggle at all. it's HD SS coated with Teflon or some such coating. It is a work of art! but, it's heavy so the na y seals dropped contract because when you add up thier load out, if you use SS plain Dura or C mags etc which awesome and pmags, you can carry more at least one extra mag of ammo. if you want
ounces mean pounds and pounds means pain. They still make a seamless version maritime magazine, not mark military and police for their scar. half FDE and half black part inside mag well. You need to bring back the video and edit it. if you ever got your hands on a new 1995 HK magazine, you would understand the absolute quality of thier manufacturing. the spring does not stack, and is smooth as silk. stick your little finger in there are no sharp edges. sorry but That HK mag is the finest quality mag ever made. nuff said.

  7. I have pmags, hexmags, dura mags and a few aluminum and steel mags. For me the Hexmags have no issues. All my other mags at one point or another had some feed or fire issues across multiple rifles. Hexmags have run in everything so far.

  8. Can’t leave a Pmag loaded for a extended period of time…. I’ll take Lancer… before you say you shouldn’t leave a mag load because it will ruin the spring it’s been debunked for many many years
