  1. I have one arm so I cut down a factory rifle at 19". It has a 2-7 Leupold with drop dot comp. With a bipod, I can hit at 500 no problem. I shoot SSTs and they are devastating on deer near and far.

  2. I’ve shot M852 and M118LR in both 600 and 1000 yard competitions. Performance is indistinguishable at 600 yards but M118 has much more tiring recoil. No doubt the M118LR is best at 1000. And with an MOA wind constant of about 10 at 1000 it’s in head math to keep up with wind favor/adjustment needs. All of my impressions are based from shooting a match conditioned 24 inch barrel rifle in mostly Match Rifle Division of NRA Long-Range where I shoot in High Master Classification. I don’t know a thing about a .308 for hunting. For deer hunting I shoot a .264 Winchester, which gets the job done.

  3. I am looking for range of M80 ball, for my practice at the range. I already know my effective range with my chosen ammo, just looking for cost affective practice. No substitute for practice.

  4. Marine corps. Yeah well that's not going to pay me for the enemies on my own in present-day I can't kill people from 10000 yards out my enemies two guys 3aa and can I help me with a sore I got

  5. There is a documentary video in the Military Channel about 16 years ago of a US Army sniper in Iraq hitting his target at balcony on a 4th floor at 1200 meters for a good kill, but it was an emergency and a M40 in 308 was all he had. Corrections were extreme in elevation but the a very good experienced sniper team. The shooter walked the bullets to the target with the spotter information. He used a 175gr match round and eliminated the target by the third shot. The target was mortar spotter.

  6. Great video! What would be the maximum distance that you’d comfortably shoot a black bear if you only were allowed to used lead free bullets, such as 155 or 165 gr Hornady CX outfitter?

  7. No bullet is designed to wound dude that’s a bullshit myth 😂😂every bullet ever created was designed to kill 😂 lol if u wanna wound something just use a .22lr or .22 short

  8. .308 with reloaded 180 grain Berger Elite Hunter. Savage MSR. 510 yards straight up the leg shoulder shot, bull elk. DRT
    Very informative video. Thanks !

  9. look Granto- why don't you start with clarity in mind.. Define your terms, you know 3rd. grade catholic school.. All information and discussion of any issue needs to be clear. So once again define your terms. A 308 can kill an elk with a 180 grain bullet out to 350 yards- way farther than any of should take a shot at an Elk.

  10. My favorite hand load for deer is a 150 grain Hornady super shock tip @2700 FPS. It shoots about 1 MOA ( nothing spectacular here)and cycles the action without beating up components. My hunting rifle is a 20 inch semi auto. Here in eastern NC it gets the job done very well on the size deer we have here. If I ever get to hunt those big western Mule deer, I'll probably try the 180 grain super shock tip.

  11. Im planning on buying a Ruger SFAR for a shit hits the fan type of stuff as well as just having fun shooting. I was thinking about getting a 1-8x vortex scope on it and canted iron sights but I'm wondering if it would be wiser to go 3-12x or higher? Basically I want it to be as versatile as possible and I'm wondering if 1-8x would be enough to reach out to 500yds or even further. Advice is appreciated!

  12. WTF is this nonsense? First off, anything you learn in the military is friggin' archaic in terms of terminal ballistics, as it's strictly confined to FMJ rounds and the resultant yaw and tumbling effects, relative to temporary & permanent cavitation. None of the military terminal ballistics data is relevant to today's hunting and/or self defense ammo choices.

Secondly, but more importantly…. implying that anything under a 175gr should ever be used for a hunting or self defense scenario is STRAIT UP BULLSHIT!

Let me know if you'd like to see a video of IMMEDIATE incapacitation of a full grown deer at over 200 yards with a Barnes .308 VOR-TX [130 gr] TTSX polymer tipped BT, with a muzzle velocity of 3,168 at 2,860 ft-lbs.

  13. If you reload, most of other ppl opinions doesn’t matter. 308 is superior in this element. As far as bullet selection and efficiency, along with ballistic coefficient and combinations the 308 is diverse. But you must reload to understand
