We need a new term, "Mass Shooting" is too generalized of a term for what is happening in America.
Chicago Style shootings are normally performed by gang members or criminals against other criminals during the altercation. That also happens in most countries accross the world.
However, "Mass shootings" such as the one in Columbine (1999) and Allen Mall and many school shootings are unfortunately something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT that is ALMOST ENTIRELY EXCLUSIVE to America:
Those type of shootings are way worse, since are normally executed by mentally unstable, "lone wolf" type of individuals who have developed hate for humanity for some reason or another, and go into a public place to attack as many innocent people as possible.
The fact that the Philadelphia shooting suspect had tactical gear and seems to have been preparing for the incident seems to indicate that it wasn't a "Chicago Style", gang/drug/criminal type of shooting and instead it was the other type that has is unfortunately becoming more frequent
The media keeps mixing and grouping the incidents as if they are the same, when they are completely different. We need a term.
