Deeply thank you for a very special person in the video; children are wonderful! Brings back my childhood – Superman was it!
That scope on a 14.5" for a review? Yeah not worth my time.
3:16 level isn’t immediately accurate
What mount is that ?
What is that scope height for the rings
What is that scope height for the rings
What 45 degree off set mount is that?
NOTE: use oil based paint pens, not acrylic
When checking eyebox, do it at max zoom. The eyebox will shrink at max magnification.
I’m a lefty guy how can i install to the other side? I think is not possible right?
Handy
Hey bro what kind of paint pen are you using in video? I can't find a good one that does not rub off
I am so glad that I’m not the only one who uses that app to level scopes! Had a disagreement with a mentor behind that
This came in handy today, thanks Jim.
thanks for this.. i didnt even know we needed to level the optics… how embarrassing thanks soo much and the lord bless you good sir..
Jimmy, I KNOW you don't have that brand new Scotty Cameron on your shop floor right behind you without it's head cover on . . . RIGHT???
“The more effort you put on the front end, the better it will be for you in the back end” thats what she said
Do you want the scope rings more or less on the receiver or it’s ok to go further past the receiver on the barrel?
Get a Spuhr mount or a Arisaka Optic Leveler Kit, saves a lot of time and gets you perfect leveling.
Get a Scalarworks mount. Lightest on the market and they have a self leveling screw and are super rugged. There is a reason they are $400, they simply are the best. I’ve messed with Geissele, Spuhr and Larue. Ended up selling all 3 and just have 4 Scalarworks mounts now. Their red dot mounts are in my opinion the best too. The Unity is a very close second with the built in iron sights if your rail space is limited…
What torque wrench do you recommend?
Hey man, been trying to find a backboard like my bench that I see on yours. Do you remember where you got yours?
Jim put together a great guide here. But, if you're someone that will be mounting scopes every now and then and value your time, spend the $30 and get a Arisaka scope leveling kit. There's no need for levels, etc… and it's perfect everytime.
DVDs?
We want the primary arms Vulcan and Holosun Vulcan video 😔
your ol lady looks pissed watch out
Jim is such a G even his house got a gangsta lean.
What are DVD's? Sounds like a very highly specialized item that might not be so easily sourced? Love this stuff kind of content as it's not all about drills and being an operational operator doing operations operationally. Thanks!
I worry about putting the offset RDS behind the ejection port. Is there any position where this is getting hit with brass? Or is it (almost) always safe?
This is the best way. Plumb bobs and flashlights is not any more precise. The wheeler level that adjusts to the barre is very handy but this is great info.
I'm really curious how truly different some mounts are. I've tried $40 UTG scope mounts, mid grade Warne mounts and high end LaRue, ADM and Geissele and I seriously don't see a lot of difference. In fact, the UTG 30mm mount has some solid recoil lugs, just as high torque values as my high end mounts and solid steel bolts. Yeah QD is a thing but some of these mounts are ridiculous. Just like risers. What's a $15 UTG or Yankee Hill riser do different than the Unity but brand recognition, a subjectively better look and a 7x price increase?
Once I have everything leveled and good to go, can I remove and re-install the mount base to rifle and not worry about messing with rings? Does the torque on the base impact the rings (if that makes sense). Thx
