  1. Get a Scalarworks mount. Lightest on the market and they have a self leveling screw and are super rugged. There is a reason they are $400, they simply are the best. I’ve messed with Geissele, Spuhr and Larue. Ended up selling all 3 and just have 4 Scalarworks mounts now. Their red dot mounts are in my opinion the best too. The Unity is a very close second with the built in iron sights if your rail space is limited…

  2. Jim put together a great guide here. But, if you're someone that will be mounting scopes every now and then and value your time, spend the $30 and get a Arisaka scope leveling kit. There's no need for levels, etc… and it's perfect everytime.

  3. What are DVD's? Sounds like a very highly specialized item that might not be so easily sourced? Love this stuff kind of content as it's not all about drills and being an operational operator doing operations operationally. Thanks!

  4. I'm really curious how truly different some mounts are. I've tried $40 UTG scope mounts, mid grade Warne mounts and high end LaRue, ADM and Geissele and I seriously don't see a lot of difference. In fact, the UTG 30mm mount has some solid recoil lugs, just as high torque values as my high end mounts and solid steel bolts. Yeah QD is a thing but some of these mounts are ridiculous. Just like risers. What's a $15 UTG or Yankee Hill riser do different than the Unity but brand recognition, a subjectively better look and a 7x price increase?

  5. Once I have everything leveled and good to go, can I remove and re-install the mount base to rifle and not worry about messing with rings? Does the torque on the base impact the rings (if that makes sense). Thx
