NRA-ILA | Oklahoma: House Passes Bill Discouraging Discrimination Against Firearm Industry

Yesterday, the House voted 74-19 to pass House Bill 2218, to ensure that Oklahoma taxpayers are not funding businesses that discriminate against the firearm industry. It now goes to the Senate for further consideration. Please contact your state senator and ask them to SUPPORT HB 2218.

House Bill 2218 prohibits public entities from entering into contracts worth $100,000 or greater with businesses, unless they certify that they do not discriminate against firearm businesses. Anti-gun corporations, banks, and their executives have expressed interest in denying services to the firearm industry as a way to further their political agenda and impose gun control by making such business impossible when legislatures won’t bend to their will. Entities should evaluate firearm businesses like any other business and consider financial aspects, rather than ideology, in their decisions on providing services.

Again, please contact your state senator and ask them to SUPPORT HB 2218.
