Film & Digital Photography In The Snow

Winter Landscape Photography on Film & Digital – In this one I was lucky enough to get one of the most epic winter sunrises I have ever seen, and there was also lots of snow which is always a bonus. I photographed the same landscape scene with three different cameras which also happened to be three different formats which worked out quite nicely. One on digital and two on film, which just made for a great opportunity to do some comparisons and attempt to pick my favorite. Hope you enjoy it.

  1. Of those 3 I like the digital one the most. But I like the one that was shot straight on (at 4:17) even more. The other ones from the side angle have the ladder interfering too much with the background. But the straight on one (the wide shot with the whole ladder) has such great layering. Its a much cleaner composition. In my opinion! I'm not saying anyone are wrong for liking the others more. 🙂

  2. I think often what makes a great shot is the timing. And because of that the digital one is my favourite man – a perfect moment. There for a second and gone forever a moment later! Lovely reminder to get out of your comfort zone as well.

  3. I like the Fuji photo, perhaps because you seem to have captured the best light for that photo and the light changed for the analogue shots? But they all have a different feel, which is to be expected. Agree that the sky in the Fuji shot just gives the image a little more tension. Excellent photo either way…
