Brownells’ has brought the original Colt 4×20 Vietnam era scope back to the market and it’s fantastic. This scope was the precursor of the definitive modern combat magnified optic, the TA01 ACOG.

In this video we discuss the history of the scope, its use, zeroing and provide a general overall review of the product.

  1. So I have 2 questions.
    1) What happens if you zero the scope for 100 yards? Where will you hit at 300 yards?
    2) What if you were to mount this scope on a carry handle on a rifle with a 1 in 7 twist like a Colt A4 or a colt Le6920? What will change? Will the scope still be reliable and effective? Or will the scope really only work on rifles with 20 inch barrels and 1-in-7 twists that are using 55 grain ammo?

  2. Can anyone tell me if it would be possible to unscrew the standard mounting block for these (the 2 screws on either side into the tube) and mount it via rings? I have an awesome idea for this if it's possible.

  3. So that’s two videos of yours that I’ve watched on the retro scope. On both videos you claim that turning the dials adjust the scope one moa. Again I ask. Is that one complete 360 degree turn that adjusts one moa? Is it 45-90 maybe 180 that makes a one moa adjustment! LMAO

  4. Please help!!! Just got my 4×20 scope and when I try to adjust the windage or elevation there's no distinctive clicking to let me know how much clicks I have done is that a problem or how do I zero eight in if I can't hear clicks

  5. Its amazing how far Brownells is going to bring us the retro line of rifles and going an extra mile by bring back the original scope for the rifles as well. It puts colt with their line of 1500$ re-issue line of rifles that arnt even built in house (which is disgraceful) to shame.

  6. We had them in our arms room in 1983 for our M16A1s Interfered with my left-handed brass deflector (which I still have) though 😛 So glad they finally added the brass deflector into the upper receiver looking back at it I've always wondered why they didn't do that from the beginning… simple but huge oversight.

  7. Cool. As. Fuck.

I really wish there were either more dedicated companies or big companies shelling out for TRULY faithful resurrections of historical firearm (or anything else, really) pieces, sights, accessories, full rifles/pistols etc and so on…
