The military was looking for a weapon to be used for stopping the use of vehicles as breaching tools at our embassies in the Middle East. So Alexander Arms developed the .50 Beowulf for this specific use plus the soldier’s don’t have to carry two weapons as the Beowulf upper will fit the M4 lower. So they can change out uppers disable the threat and switch back to 5.56 for defense purposes all in a relatively short period of time.

little late to the show on this….but the .450 BM out performs both the .50 and .458 and is pretty even with the 45-70 govt.. I bought mine last spring and love it. But I would take any 3 of the big bore AR's.
