Today we are opening what is part two in my newest build, the AR pistol. In the first video I opened the Sig Sauer SB15 which is going to be the centerpiece for this build. Todays package includes the upper and lower receiver for this pistol build. As you can see from the title I chose to go with Spikes Tactical. I purchased both from the same company for two reasons. One, I was hoping doing so would give me a good fit between the upper and lower. Two, I’m not a fan of mismatching finishes between so hopefully buying from the same company I’ll avoid that issue. I will say in the video there appears to be a difference in finishes. However, once I cleaned the upper they match just fine. There really isn’t a lot to say here that I didn’t cover in the video. These are both excellent products from a great company. Thanks for watching.

  1. I understand you had problems with your AR and I was wondering if it involved the Spikes Upper and Lower? Or was it a part? I want to know because I wanted to pick up an upper and lower and was wondering if it was the problem or something else.

  2. Just bought spikes upper and lower and built it this evening but I'm having a problem with the fitment. It fits and fires just fine but I can see light between the upper and lower and the casting lines don't match up. Nothing is bent or damaged it just isn't the quality I was expecting for dropping $99 for the lower $80 for the parts kit and $550 for the upper and barrel assy. You have any problems like that?

  3. Wish I had the extra cash to jump on the spikes lower and upper from aim before they sold out. I am happy that I was able to get the aim nickel boron bolt carrier before they sold out though.

  4. I used the punisher lower for my pistol build…love it….every upper I put on it locks up tight, but I used a Vltor Mur upper and a Daniel Defense 10.3 inch barrel….I used this length barrel so I could still use a suppressor on it and comply with their rules…I finished it off with a DD fsp rail……please please please don't colorfill it….ANY fill just looks silly….way worse than a frankenbuild

  5. You might try a CMMG lower parts kit – the standard trigger is not too bad.  also they have a Gunbuilder kit with all but hammer/trigger and you could go with an ALG made by Geiselle – I am a huge fan of their SSA-E trigger, though it is expensive, I have found worthwhile investment.  nothing like a true 3.5lb AR trigger.  If you ever shoot one you will not go back
