  1. Sure, super easy when you have that type, with the detent. I have never seen one like that before. I just installed my first one today, and it was a PAIN! Had to remove that tiny "C-ring" from the pin, then remove it while holding the spring so it wouldn't fly off, then once I got the pin started into the new cover (and the spring), I fed it back through, and also had to twist the spring on the "long end" so it would have the proper tension. After I got it fed back through the holes, I had to put that tiny "C-ring" back in place, using tweezers, a small flathead screwdriver and small hammer. This would be a DREAM for me!! I need to look into getting this style! The easier, the better!!👍

  2. Very sexy Mid West set up, loving the build good sir. I don’t know why your vid would get a thumbs down must be those who don’t have style lol very well made video and instruction on installing this product. Just got mine today so now I’m excited to install, hope you and yours are staying safe and healthy during these crazy times.

  3. These dust covers have a bad spring detent design and it will put premature wear on your upper receiver…….Mil-spec is designed to last and are just as easy if you take the time to learn…..

  4. Mil-spec dust covers…..Don't be fooled by Strike Industries or any other snake oil designs……These are just for lazy people without proper gunsmithing skills……These dust covers suck!!!!!!!…..Mil-spec for a reason……

  5. First up, why is your optic so far forward, half on the receiver and half on the non monolithic rail? How are you getting eye relief?? It doesn't look like you're buying junk equipment but you are putting your things together like you are someone who does buy junk equipment…

With that being said I had a Strike Industries dust cover and forward assist installed in a nice upper I won. Both parts failed and broke. Junk imo, too bad bc the aesthetic is good.

  6. Glad I watched your video, adjusting the detent was super helpful.. Since SI doesn't ship any instructions I had no way of knowing the ball detent that keeps the door closed is adjustable. Good Video. Thanks!

  7. Holy shit! Fuck…… and I thought I was done buy shit for my ar's………. after messin with a dozen or more old school covers this was a well thought out piece of kit, sooo many damn C clamp washers lost and sweatin over!
