I’ve had a chance to do testing at the range and was happy to find that all the ammo I tried that had enough power to cycle the action would reliably have last round bolt hold open as hoped. The only ammo I had with me that would not was CCI quiet, which did not have enough power to cycle the action. I tested CCI mini mag & standard velocity, Remington golden bullet 36 & 40 grain, and Winchester Super X.

Testing the last round bolt hold open functionality of the Catch 22 gen 1 bolt catch with a reduced power spring and the new CMMG gen 2 22lr magazines. Everything seems to be working together now.
