Whoo! Nice shootin. I too have the problem of "the dot being bigger than the face", though I assume it was just due to how far away the target was in this case. My eye doctor says I only have a mild astigmatism. In fact she said in my right I have a(I think?) .5, which I believe she said was the lowest measurable astigmatism(again, I could be wrong), and a 1 in left eye, which is, unfortunately, my dominant eye. For me, red dots, regardless of quality, always look like vertically stretched out tiny little balls of yarn. Obviously this isn't ideal, but when I took a carbine class years back one of the instructors said that's exactly how he sees red dots, and that he zeros his rifles such that the tip of the dot(which is pretty much pointy) is where wants his rounds going at 25yds, which is how I've set my guns up ever since(though I switched to a 36 yard zero a few years back.)
I’m alive today (or not a pow) because I was already good with guns when I survived a crash in VN and wasn’t supposed to be their. 1965 . good to see this. 🤠
Correct me if I’m wrong, but this wouldn’t be considered MK18 right? Seems like a longer barrel whereas a MK18 would have anything from the 10.3-11.5 category. May have been a typo while trying to put MK12 or something
Bigger than the face! Lol wait till your 55 yo eyes try! This is great vid. Brings me back to good times with my father, well, it was a bolt gun not an AR, but you are blessed to have time and an activity to share together. ‘MERICA!
Kid learning the Basics and hearing the report of a clean hit. Keep it up, Then Live moving game, hogs is good practice. Then mobile/truck bed training with moving live game.
Now do moving targets at variable ranges he's got the hold set. Now add in the unknown target speed at distance. If he gets that down, he'll be good to go. Good Shooting keep up the training and keep it fun too
I train much to get good at shooting and then i take friends to the range, and they like, what should i do, i tell them, and they often hit with zero effort, it's strange sometimes.
My brother wouldn’t let me take my nephew shooting when he was three or four, i thought three was a good compromise. I don’t know why he’s so against firearms. Well, I guess he’ll be like every other normal American. I won’t be making the same mistake with my son.

Can’t wait to do this with my son someday! Just need a wife and a son now.. but preferably just a son lol
Just out have fun! 😄
Not a 10.3" Mk18, but a longer barrelled DD.

Love my Mk18s and I certainly prefer them suppressed!
I hate the standard AR upper. I have been converting my ARs to the Gibbz side charger which I love.
Good 😆👌🏽
Is that the new aimpoint duty rds?
That’s not a MK18 but an M4A1. That Handguard and barrel look WAY too long for a 10.3/10.5
Love to see kids learning to shoot. I try to bring new people into the fold if i can. Taught all my younger siblings to shoot.
where's the mk18??? but shooting a 10.3" at distance is definitely different than shooting a 20"
I live in Queensland Australia
Eye pro??? 😉
I loved teaching my two sons and my daughter to shoot. It was wonderful taking them on their first hunts.
How high is he holding to hit 300?
I’m alive today (or not a pow) because I was already good with guns when I survived a crash in VN and wasn’t supposed to be their. 1965 . good to see this. 🤠
Looks like DDM4A1 Milspec+ not Mk18 😅
No eye pro?
Sure looks like an m4a1 block II to me
Quality time. Enjoy it.
Nice.
Pretty damn good.👍👍
Now teach him to keep his finger off the trigger until he is ready.

Awesome ! MAGA dad, good for you.
My best memories with my dad is when we were out shooting and hunting. It started a lifelong passion and and deepened our relationship. So fun to see!
This is awesome one of the best videos you've made! So american makes me proud 👏
Shoulders. Which one? 🤣
No eye pro? What a shit father.
Great stuff. My kid ain’t learning on a Daniel Defense tho.

Now that’s good parenting!
Although I’d get him some budget nods

Looks long for a mk18
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
You never really appreciate something as much until it’s gone, maybe until years later. Best dad ever
Absolutely the information that needs to be passed down how to respect and use your tools is becoming something that has gotten lost
please don't use YT's 'shorts' format. it sucks
Videos of men training their sons to shoot rifles gives me hope.

You sure that’s not an M4A1?

You’re a good dad
